The Storm Lords of the Mountain Kingdoms hail from the Azure Colleges, a stalwart group of mages devoted to the mastery of the lightning charged sky of their homelands. Wielding staff and spellbook to fling magical lightning at foes, while pelting them with wind, hail and ice, the Storm Lords make fierce opponents. Few would intentionally cross a Storm Lord, and those that do learn to live indoors or underground for the rest of their lives.
The Storm Lords apprentices often seek out their fortune as adventurers to fund further magical tuition, and to recover as many magical artifacts as possible, bringing prestige to their order, and hopefully the (favorable) attention of their masters. Indeed, the only way Storm Lords get promoted amongst their own is via peer recognition, so prestige, knowledge and raw power are everything to these men and women.
In their homeland, Storm Lords are seen as champions of their people, if not somewhat aloof, with a reputation for not suffering fools lightly. When the war trumpets sound, the Storm Lords always take the brunt of any magical onslaught without fear, and return it to their foes in kind, punishing them with all the fury of a hurricane.
